I used to view myself as a quiet and overly introspective individual. Speaking up was not something that came easily to me, and I often kept my thoughts to myself, which made it challenging to connect with others. Over time, studying psychology has enabled me to become more confident, forge deeper relationships, and manage challenges in healthier ways.
My interest in becoming a clinical psychologist was sparked by my own experiences in therapy. It demonstrated to me how powerful it can be to feel genuinely heard and supported, and how significantly that can contribute to personal growth.
Experiencing periods of isolation and emotional distress during the pandemic also heightened my awareness of the importance of mental health, as well as the stigma that prevents individuals from seeking help. As a result, I recognize that opening up is not always easy, and even taking the initial step to express your feelings requires courage.
As a trainee therapist, I aspire to provide you with a safe and supportive environment where you can share openly, explore your experiences, and collaboratively navigate challenges. I will be there to support you on your journey toward positive change.
