Alessandra Khor is a 19-year-old, first-year Communications (Media Studies) student at HELP University. With a strong interest in storytelling and media, they enjoy writing more narrative driven stories while also having a passion for audio editing.
“At the Edge of the Circle,” was inspired by something they rarely saw discussed, the emotional struggle that can come even after finding a community. While many stories focus on the search for belonging, Alessandra wanted to explore what happens next, the quiet challenge of letting yourself be part of something, even when you’re surrounded by support.
It reflects the tension between being accepted by others and accepting yourself. It speaks to those who often take on the role of helping others, who show up and contribute, but still feel like they’re on the outside looking in. Through this, they hope to show that being part of a community doesn’t always erase loneliness, and that true belonging starts with learning to let yourself in
