I started to see a counsellor to improve my skills when working with orphan adults who had childhood trauma. However, I realized it was difficult for me to offer help to them before getting my own childhood trauma processed. Therefore, I started to heal my wounds with my mental health counsellor 10 years ago. In the last 10 years, I have been growing by an active engagement in counselling and practice in life. I uncovered my childhood trauma which involved my grandfather passing away, my parents divorcing and my original thoughts and emotions towards my family of origin shattering. I had to walk through the pains with my counsellor to put the broken pieces back together into a new image.

Despite the difficulties I encountered, I am grateful for being able to turn my sufferings into blessings in people’s lives since my past life experiences may help me to get a better understanding of people who seek help from a counsellor. Life is tough, but I wish I could be the one who walks through these difficulties with you.
