About Me

I did not know it at the time, but my interest in clinical psychology probably stemmed from my love of movies as a young child. At the mature age of four, Monsters Inc. was my favourite movie because it taught me the value of seeking to understand things that frighten me because once I understand them better, they don’t seem all the scary anymore.

Oddly enough, I also learned a lot from villains because understanding their perspectives allow me to reframe my understanding of the so-called 'hero'; sometimes they even change my mind about the story entirely. (P.S. my favourite villain is probably Thanos).

Each time I watch a film, I find myself learning new things about how I see the world and myself, how other people see the world and themselves, and how all these perspectives can shift. I am ever curious and analytical about learning what makes a good story and I hope to help my clients write their own. In writing, a good story begins by understanding its main character; perhaps that is where we can begin as well.
