Nobody wants to feel stuck, hopeless, and helpless in life. Despite our best efforts, we stumble upon circumstances that are difficult to navigate and life at times becomes daunting and scary. During these moments, we just want to have a taste of freedom from what has been bothering us and gain back that sense of control over our lives.
I am a Filipino residing in Malaysia for 14 years. I have had the privilege to work with children from diverse backgrounds at a non–government organisation and a private mental health clinic in Kuala Lumpur. I have seen child clients with attachment issues due to abandonment, neglect, abuse, and children with special needs such as autism spectrum, ADHD, GDD, and with learning challenges.
In my sessions, I utilise the humanistic approach that holds whatever you have to share in a safe and trusting space. My work with children as a Certified Play Therapist (PTI) brought me a deeper understanding of how crucial our early years are as they help create the template for our future belief systems. With a desire to work with adult and child clients, together we will journey to gain insight into memories that still cause us pain and come to terms with them through acceptance and healing.
